Any welder knows that there is no welding without a welding helmet.

While they come in various shapes and sizes, there are some that are considered much better and higher-end than others. We’re talking about auto-darkening helmets.

These nifty things are amazingly convenient and offer excellent protection against almost everything welding can throw at you.

With adjustable visors, this helmet will protect your eyes from the brilliant light and your face from the heat, but also allow you to see as clearly as if you weren’t wearing anything at all.

The Antra AH6-260 Auto Darkening Welding Helmet is certainly a product you would want to consider.

What’s it for?

The obvious answer is welding, of course. But the question here is for which type of welding?

Different welding styles produce different levels of light and heat, and you will need adequate protection for all levels. Well, if your product of choice is Antra, then you are in luck.

Antra has been proven to effectively protect the wearer from most welding-related hazards, no matter the type of welding. Be it MIG, TIG, ARC, MMA, it doesn’t matter to Antra – it is perfect for every single one of them.

But the helmet doesn’t stop there either. It is also very well-suited for things like plasma cutting or grinding.

The helmet has been truly made to provide protection against all (or almost all) of the hazards that come with working with metals.

Antra AH6

Pros

Firstly, let’s say something about the helmet’s darkening capabilities.

Antra has a 5-sensor-outs darkening lens, which is amazingly responsive to light from any kind of welding. In fact, the reaction time is rated to be 1/25000th of a second, which is very impressive indeed.

With such fast reaction to light, the helmet ensures that you will never be in the position where your eyesight is threatened.

Of course, you can adjust the sensitivity and delay settings. There is a knob on the side that will let you personalize your mask, so your eyes can better adjust to the shift in the light.

One of the best features of this helmet is the lens. The lens is pretty wide and allows for an extended field of view. This enables you to see more without having to strain your neck or put it in an awkward position.

Not only that, but the helmet is compatible with cheaper lenses that will let you see better when welding, and with magnifying lenses that will let you inspect the weld better.

The welding helmet is also compatible with hard hats, as it comes with a hard hat adapter. It also has a battery indicator that is located inside the helmet, so you don’t have to take it off to see how much time you have left.

Cons

Indeed, no product is ever perfect, but it is also very hard to say something negative about Antra. The only bad thing that we could find about it is that the adjuster knob is a bit flimsy.

Take note that this is a 45-dollar helmet, and, at that price, nothing beats Antra. Sure, it will hold on pretty well if you adjust it once and don’t touch it.

However, if there are more welders in your house or at work who are using this same helmet, the regular usage of the knob will eventually cause it to fall off.

Warranty Information

Surprisingly, Antra doesn’t offer that extensive of a warranty on their helmets. Currently, all models they have on sale come with less than one-year warranty.

However, if there is damage on your helmet, you can always return it and ask for a new one, and it will be delivered to you in no time.

To Sum It All Up...

Well, what more can be said about Antra AH6 other than it’s really an outstanding product?

With such diversity, it protects you from anything and everything.

For anyone looking for a welding helmet, be sure to check Antra AH6-260 out.
